    You do not precisely read this book, but I have browsed, referred to, and otherwise made very good use of this book.The book is well laid out with several keys to help the reader find the plant that they are trying to identify Each listing has a consistent set of detailed listings on various characteristics of the plant general, leaves, flowers, and ecology accompanied by photos and or diagrams I especially enjoy the notes, which give tips on how to distinguish a plant from a similar one, uses aboriginal peoples have for the plants, whether a plant is edible or toxic , and so on It is obvious a great deal of thought, research, and infield work went into the creation of this book The writing is accessible to the layperson, but also not dumbed down Plus, a handy glossary at the end explains the meanings of many of the sciencey words as they are used in this context As someone who both works and recreates as an environmentalist, this is a book that I value, and that I know ...
